SLAs and Auction Mechanisms in CATI

Last year we present the new FNRS project, CATI (Charging and accounting Technology for the Internet). This new paper gives the state of progress of CATI. In this paper we focus our attention on a few points mentioned above, namely: • we describe briefly the final CATI architecture interfacing IntServ and DiffServ technologies; • we particularly focus on the topic concerning the charging and the accounting: we described in the previous paper the new RSVP extensions for charging and accounting; now we explain how we use these extensions in the framework of a new market-based pricing model which is based on auction and respects the principle of the incentive compatibility. In these scope we will provide new evaluation results achieved in CATI; • we will show how to allow Virtual Private Network (VPN) management with QoS support using the Broker architecture in DiffServ as well as the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
